You Are Not Who You Think You Are

Humans are funny creatures. We hear something, are exposed to something, or absorb a thought early in life, and then we assume it’s true for the long haul. We can literally take on other people’s beliefs and identities, simply because we have nothing else to compare them to. Beliefs like:
I am the fat girl…
I will never find true love…
I will never be successful and wealthy…
I’m not creative…
I am a rules person who needs structure…
I don’t have sexual energy…
I suck at relationships…
 

We take on these identities and we wear them like an ugly old coat. We are so committed to validating these identities, that we go out of our way to make sure they become true. We actually seek out evidence to reinforce these falsehoods, because we simply don’t know any better. And here’s the thing…
We are not only creators, we are also incredible destroyers.
All we need is the self-awareness to recognize the false stories, identities, and beliefs that are playing out in our minds minds so that we can destroy them. Form there, we get to create a story that is much more in alignment with who we truly are. I can promise you you are holding onto identities, beliefs, and stories that have been borrowed from your parents and society. Even though those beliefs feel shitty, heavy, and old, you assume they are a part of who you are, but it’s all bullshit.
 

 
You have the power to shift their stories. You are not a manifestation of your environment. You get to create who you are, and it starts now.
So ask yourself: who do you want to become? What is the true story you want to embody? What identity feels truthful with your soul? And then get to creating.
