Consumption Without Integration Creates Frustration

Something that so many of my clients struggle with is integration. Heck, even I still struggle with integration from time to time.

How many times have you seen or heard the same thing over and over again from your clients – they’ve read all the books, listened to all the podcasts, tried all the personal development and life coaching things…and they STILL can't activate real, lasting change.

(Maybe this is something you currently struggle with too?)

How many times have you heard this: “I KNOW what I need to do, I just can't seem to actually do it.” Here’s the thing – this isn't an execution problem, it's more about over-consumption.

Over-consumption without integration is what creates frustration when trying to transform.

So, how can you help your clients get past this? Here’s what to do:

  1. They need to STOP consuming new information. It’s time to give their brains a break from all the over-consumption.

  1. Start small. Have them focus on integrating ONE thing/change/behavior into their daily routine.

  1. Infuse integration into what they are already doing. For example, if your client wants to focus on being more present, have them practice presence during routine experiences throughout their day – while showering, while commuting, while cleaning up at night.

It’s not realistic for every person to take an hour a day to focus on a new practice or habit alongside of all their other responsibilities, so working integration into things they are already doing will really help. And, if these lil tips and tricks help you out too, all the better 😉
