How to Feel Safe

Life is constantly up and down, peaks and valleys…and if we attach our emotionality to what is happening in our external world, we will drive ourselves crazy.  
 
One of the best ways to counter this is to create a felt sense of safety within ourselves. A sense of home, belonging, and understanding in our hearts and bodies, where we can allow ourselves to exist in the chaos without allowing ourselves to feel chaotic. Because the truth is that we are often living from a place of emotional chaos, which is why the world is crazy and we are seeing so much separation.
 
When we come back into our bodies and start to feel safe, then we start to feel connected.
 

 
Connection first starts with ourselves – connecting to our body, our purpose, our heartbeat. Then it percolates into other areas of our lives – connection with other people, and connection to humanity. Eventually, we all get to feel connected as one, because that’s all we are.
 
We are not separate. We are one.
 
The only separation that exists is the separation that we create. That separation is created from inside of us first, and then it is executed into our external world. What if you could just feel at home and feel safe and know that no matter what, the universe has got you and you are fully supported?
 
When we establish that feeling of safety and connection, we can go out into the world and explore, have fun, take risks, and play, knowing that no matter what happens, it’s not going to have an impact on our felt sense of security and safety that stems from within. Ask yourself:
 

 
“Where can I feel safety in my body right now?”
 
Maybe it’s in your heart. Maybe it’s in your stomach. Safety exists within you, without having to create external structures around you to feel it. Everything you need to create happiness, and emotional security, is already within you, you just need to tap into it.
